It is widely used in automotive batteries, from those that power conventional internal combustion engines to those that power the safety features of electric automobiles. Lead is also utilized in emergency power generators for hospitals and other critical services, as well as in storage technology like data centers and telecommunications networks. Thanks to its carrier qualities, it is an efficient and effective enabler for recycling non-ferrous metals, including the platinum used in catalytic converters and the gallium used in mobile phones. Additionally, lead itself is recyclable indefinitely.
